Lucy Goes to School
My First Day of First Grade!

Hi!  Hello Again!  Yip!  Yip!

I had a really good first week with my new Mommy and Daddy.  I was SO good.  I didn't pee or poop in the house for six whole days!  But on the seventh day, I decided to play a trick.  I pooped on the rug behind a chair.  I didn't think my Mommy or Daddy would find it, but Daddy found it when he got home.  I was surprised that he didn't spank me or even yell at me.  That evening, I went with my parents over to my sister's new apartment to help her put up shelves and unpack.  They wouldn't give me anything to unpack and I was sort of mad so I peed on the carpet.  I'm really sorry that I did it, but maybe next time they will pay me more attention.

The next day, my Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Robert came over and brought my cousins Jared and Lauren.  I was so excited to see them.  I licked all of their faces.  I was very confused when my Mommy packed all of my toys into my crate and put it in Aunt Mary Jane's car.  Then, my Aunt Mary Jane took me away from my Mommy and put me in the crate in the back seat of her car.  I didn't know what was going on.  I whined really loud.  We backed out of the driveway and I whined even louder.  They stopped the car and Aunt Mary Jane took me out of the crate and let me sit in her lap.  I liked that much better.  Aunt Mary Jane explained to me that my Mommy and Daddy were going to Paris for a few days and that I couldn't go so I would have to stay with her.

I had fun at Aunt Mary Jane's house once I got settled.  I met my other two cousins, Chili and Roo.  Roo and I played together and had fun but Chili seemed kind of annoyed with me.  I don't know why.  It sort of hurt my feelings.

I spent Sunday on the sofa with my Uncle Robert and Roo and Chili while Aunt Mary Jane went to something called church.

On Monday, I started school at Sardis Elementary School.  Aunt Mary Jane was my teacher.  She sent a report to my Mommy in Paris with some pictures.  I can't read yet, but I liked the pictures.  Maybe you can read the report.

"Lucy got to school - she admired Chason's backpack - she wants one!

Next was group time on the rug - Lucy was a little distracted by beads on the floor - we have been making Indian shirts.  A very nice team of three students helped pick up any beads on the floor before Lucy ate them.

We had reading next - Lucy chose a book, but then tried to chew it - she needs practice on reading!

Then, we had literacy centers - Lucy started in the popular computer center, but she had a really short attention span, and got down/decided to visit another center.

She then went around and helped herself to a glue stick and scissors she found on the floor, and brought to the rug in anticipation of her next center.

Then, we had inside recess since it was raining outside, so Lucy played with everyone.  She was petted by everyone, several found it hard to resist chasing her, but she wasn't scared of any of the children.  Her favorite toy to play with at recess was the Lego's - she had to get into the box to find the pieces she wanted.

After recess, it was time for lunch and the big feast between the Indians (my class) and the Pilgrims (Mrs. Hene's class).  Lucy came to part of it, and agreed to be in the group picture with everyone.

Lucy was so inspired by the Indians and  Pilgrims, that she decided to spend some time in our teepee while the children were at PE.  She "read" some books, and had a "fight" with some  of the "wild" animals in the teepee, and got to running around the room as fast as she could run - she must have noticed how some of the boys in my room act!

She also BARKED three times when I took her outside the back door of the room to pee!  She acted like she heard something, and just barked!  She had a great day at Sardis!"

I stayed with Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Robert for a few more days but I didn't go to school anymore because it was something called Thanksgiving and they didn't have school.  Aunt Mary Jane said my Mommy and Daddy were coming to get me Thursday night.  I wanted to leave some gifts for Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Robert but I didn't have any money so I just hid some little piles of poop around the house.

I was so happy when my Mommy and Daddy came to get me.  I am home now and I have slept on the sofa all day except for the time it took me to write this web site.  (My mommy helped me a little.)

I'll write more later.  I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving, whatever that is.
