Dee Goes to Vienna, Austria
(Not to be confused with Vienna, Georgia)

Dee's passport arrived just in time for her to travel to Vienna with her friends, BJ, Tony, Karla and Nancy!  She is language qualified and was able to hold a line that included a layover in Vienna!  Even though she was tired from performing her duties on the flight, she was anxious to show her friends around the city.  Their first stop was in the Sunken City at the Cafe del Sol where Dee bought umbrella drinks for her friends.

Next, she wanted her friends to have one of the local biers at the Couch Potato with a great view of the lighthouse.

The following day, Dee took the group on the public bus up to the edge of the Vienna woods, overlooking the city.  They had snacks at the cafe and enjoyed the view of the city below.  The view was positively breathtaking!   Dee pointed out the sights, including the Sunken City.

Dee tried the Wurst, which technically could be called Vienna Sausages.  She was careful not to get the senf (mustard) on her uniform.

Dee led the hike to Nussdorf at the bottom of the hill.  She was the first to spot the Heurigen (Wine Garden) Steinschaden.where she tried the local Heuriger.  It was a young wine but much heartier than most of the German wines Dee had tried.

After the hike down the hill, Dee needed some water.  She was surprised to see the antique carbonated water dispenser at the Heurigen Schubel-auer.

Dee was feeling a bit tipsy so she hitched a ride in Tony's backpack on the tram ride back to the hotel.

By the time they got back to the hotel, she was feeling better, so they stopped for a carafe of wine at the pizzaria across the street from the hotel.

The next day, it was so warm and sunny that Dee had to seek some shade to protect her sensitive skin!

With Dee's transportation background, it was no surprise to anyone when she was asked to help steer the ferry boat from Melk to Krems.

After getting away from the dock, Dee took a short break to enjoy a glass of wine with her friends.  She commented that she never gets this kind of break when she is flying!

Maybe there's a reason for that.  When it was time to get off the boat, Dee was tipsy again and had to hitch another ride in Tony's backpack.

The next morning, when it was time to go home, Dee was back in top form.   She served a pre-flight cocktail to her friends at the airport at the Cafe Bistro Johann Straus.

Dee was flying A-line, so she was in charge of all of the other flight attendants.  She still found time to serve champagne to her special friends though, and even took a sip herself (don't tell her supervisor).

Once in the air, she took time to demonstrate the touch screen and settled into one of the comfortable Business Elite seats to watch a chick flick (don't tell her supervisor).

All in all, Dee thought this was a pretty good layover.  Dee is pretty junior, so she'll have trouble holding layovers like this very often.  Dee's going to learn some other languages to see if that will help her hold some other international trips in the future!
